Swimming with Stingrays

One memorable moment in my life was on a cruise vacation where we got off at the Cayman Islands and got to swim with stingrays on a sandbar while feeding them and taking pictures with them in their natural habitat.

Place I Like

The one place I would always enjoy visiting and possibly living at would be Hawaii.  I have gone there almost every year since I was about two years old.  I enjoy everything; even the smallest things such as walking off the place and having that wave of heat hit your body.  The smell of the air is addicting.  Everything about it makes it such a nice place.  There is almost no crime, everyone is laid back, no one honks their horn not only because it is kind of illegal on the island but because no one gets impatient.  If you don’t notice the green light until five seconds later, no one really cares sine no one is in a rush.

The food there is amazing, all the fish is fresh and is brought in that morning by the fishermen.  I enjoy sitting on the beach sipping a pina colada and enjoying the view of the water meeting the horizon.  I enjoy the nature of the island, chickens and roosters roam freely throughout the streets and forests fearless of the humans.  They have nothing to fear since everyone is friendly.  They locals enjoy conversing with the tourists and telling them of good beach locations and places to visit.  I enjoy hiking in the mountains where you can overlook an entire bay.  I think the beaches there are some of the nicest ones I have ever been to.  The water there is actually blue, unlike the ones you see in California where they have that strange brown murky color.  And when you swim, you could actually see more than 3 feet, in fact you can see the bottom when you’re at a 30 feet depth.  Also, most of the beaches have fish swimming near the shore.  There is this one beach of which I really love.  It has an abundance of fish and a sand island a little ways off the shore of which you can swim to and just chill there for a while.  It’s fun because on the small island there are different kinds of wildlife to explore.

When it rains, no one uses an umbrella since no one cares of getting wet.  It’s just water right?  Also the rain feels nice, with the heat and humidity it feels like a warm shower.  One thing I don’t like about Hawaii is the constant use of sunblock and getting sun burnt.  But I guess the trade off for the nice climate and this is good.

The Place in AHS that I Don't Like

I don't like room 204, or any room Mr. Ross is in.  It reminds me of how I failed his class because I had too many tardies.  Almost every day I walk up to the door, no later than 2 minutes late, and put my head down as I prepare to open the door and have Mr. Ross stop talking so he can turn around and glare at me as I walk towards my seat; causing the rest of the students to look at me and chuckle slightly.  When I do make it to class on time, he would congratulate me in a sarcastic way as if it was a big deal.

I used to ask him if I could use the restroom or get a drink of water, but I stopped trying.  He always tells me no.  He either says, "you should bring water to class," or something like, "you came late to class and you didn't bother to use the restroom before?”  Sometimes it seems like he has a sexual bias.  He tends to treat the females in his class a lot better than the males.  He jokes around playfully with the girls and uses harsh jokes when it comes to the guys.  Sometimes he can even be creepy.  He would roll up to a girl’s desk and start talking to her about anything, maybe even her personal life.

In the beginning of the school year, a student would probably think he’s cool and one of the most chill teachers since he lets you cuss, drink and eat in class, but unfortunately it’s nothing like that.  I often think he does that in order to trick his students so they don’t have the time to realize how hard of a grader he is or how much of a douche he can be before they can transfer out of his class.

The only thing I enjoy about that class is how fast it goes by.  I usually walk into his class half-awake and by the time I actually wake up, the class is already most of the way through.  I still remember the shock of joining Mr. Purdom’s class since I now have to double up on English after Mr. Ross flunked me.  The difference in the class structure and rules surprised me.  It’s a relief going to my third period class after my dreadful first period with Mr. Ross.

Place I Like

I enjoy the gym, or more specifically the YMCA Berkeley.  I like this place because it reminds me of the close friends I've made there and the changes in my life.

Place I don't Like

I do not like Mr. Ross's class, it reminds me of how early I have to wake up for class and how I failed his class because I had too many tardies.

3rd Person

Brian is a modest fellow.  Despite being good in that area he is infamous for being a liar, a good one at that.  He tends to be more of a modest character unless spurred on to boast about himself.  A negative aspect of his personality is that he tends to act a certain way in order to keep himself hidden from other peoples' judgment.  He does things so people can't make assumptions by looking at him.  An example of this would be one of his "good" attributes, his modesty.  He likes to think of modesty as both a good thing and a bad thing.  It is good in a way to which it makes a someone seem like a kind person, yet he enjoys using his modesty to keep aspects about himself unknown.  It makes it hard for people to assume what he is good at and what he sucks at.  He enjoys this.  It leaves a big question mark above his head in other people's eyes.

People would probably think his ability to lie without guilt would be a negative trait but he thinks it's a good skill to have.  Lying has gotten him out of a bunch of bad situations.  Sometimes he finds it funny to tell someone a lie about himself and see how they react.  Then next week he would tell them the truth and see the reaction on their face.  People tell him he's fun to hang out with.  He tries to spend all the time he can to have fun.  School is probably one of his last priorities.  He tries his best to stay away from school as much as possible.  You can call him a slacker.  He's a slacker but an unusual one.  He does whatever he can to help his family, friends and strangers.  When he has change in his pocket he usually gives it to a homeless guy.  He's an atheist too, so you know now that he's kind at heart and not trying to ensure his path to heaven.  He believes people such as Christians are all living in fear.  He thinks they fear they will go to hell if they don’t act in a “good” manner.   He finds some of those people to be sheltered and unexposed to the real world.  He sees that some Christians only do what they do because they fear God and Hell.  He doesn't fear anything.
